The top half of the old city, from Bay Street down through the squares to about Liberty Street. Most of the hidden rooms are here: a bar down a back lane, a tavern in a cellar, a speakeasy behind a bookcase. Nearly all of it sits inside the to-go cup zone.

Savannah Smokehouse is a counter-service barbecue room downtown on West State Street. Its site says the meats are hand rubbed, hand sliced and smoked on site daily, with homemade sides and craft beer. The venue's site does not name a style or a wood.
